Read project and service cost from billing-export detail.
Review the Google Cloud bill through the projects, services and labels that make a cost question specific.
The reporting source
Detailed Cloud Billing export.
Guided setup is source- and workspace-dependent. Confirm the reporting scope and access needed during evaluation.
What this helps you review
- Start with the billing scope
Use the existing detailed billing export as the reporting source. Keep the billing account, period, currency and cost basis with the review.
- Follow projects and services
Compare movement across projects and services, then use supplied labels and resource context to narrow the investigation. Resource detail is useful only where the export supplies it.
- Bring ownership into the discussion
Use source-backed dimensions to explain which part of the bill needs an owner. A label provides evidence for a review; it does not automatically establish a complete allocation decision.
Review the source requirements.
Documentation explains reporting scope and the reviewed access requirements. Confirm availability for your workspace before planning a connection.
