Product / Budgets and forecasts

See budget risk before the invoice closes.

Review the spending boundary you set alongside what has been measured and what may happen next. Actuals, forecast ranges and reporting gaps keep their own meaning.

A budget names the boundary

Define the source and financial scope being reviewed, then compare measured spend with the budget for that period. Keep currency and cost basis attached to the review.

  • Review actual spend against the agreed boundary.
  • Keep thresholds and the review period explicit.
  • Follow a material change back to its billing context.

A forecast describes uncertainty

Review a likely range based on eligible cost history, alongside the actual spend already reported. A forecast is an estimate, with uncertainty and coverage attached.

  • Read the range rather than a single promised outcome.
  • Check the history and complete-through context.
  • Revisit the estimate as the reporting window changes.
